"The 2010 Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore shows a good level of heft and density with luscious dark fruit flavors to follow. The wine wraps thickly over the palate with spice, leather, prune and cherry cola flavors. Montecariano's Ripasso drinks like an Amarone both in terms of intensity and staying power. Montecariano is an under-the-radar estate that delivers great wines from the Valpolicella area. I was happy to learn more about the Ripasso and the base Valpolicella.
